Georgia's 6th district's boundaries were redrawn following the 2010 census. The end result was an the addition of an another congressional seat for the state of Georgia. The 2012 congressional election will be the first election using the new district boundaries. The district consists of many of the northern suburbs of Atlanta and includes portions of eastern Cobb County, northern Fulton County, and northern Dekalb County. The district includes all or portions of the cities of Roswell, Johns Creek, Tucker, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, Brookhaven, Chamblee, Doraville, and Dunwoody.
