Back in the day, all utilities were controlled by the public service commission.  To some extent this is true today.  However, with the advent of “Marketers” in the gas industry, the question seems to linger, do I stick with this company or get a better rate with the new one.  I do not need a natural gas retailer selling me gas when the old system works just fine.  Let us bring back the common sense approach to utilities.

How does a power comany purchase another power company out of cash reserves and additional debt.  The power company is a monopoly.  The public service commission approves the rates charged.  How does this company develop excessive cash reserves to acquire another company. We need to tighten the rules regarding these monopolies.
